What is FlexCSS™?

Pixel Brite Creations® FlexCSS™ is a simple to use web development system consisting of four CSS libraries, images and HTML snippets. Together these items create user-interface elements to help seasoned designers or novices rapidly assemble attractive site content.

How Does it Work?

Under the hood of FlexCSS™ lies a proven CSS system that enables the author with powerful tools to assemble content quickly. FlexBlox™—our personal favorite in the bundle, provides dynamic, attractive content containers for quick styling. FlexHeads™ provide horizontal headers in varying sizes and configurations with custom icon and rollover capabilities. Then there are the super-handy FlexBtns™ and FlexTabs™ which provide dynamic sizing and complex hovering capability for buttons and tabbed user interfaces.

What is CSS?

CSS is an acronym for Cascading Style Sheets and is an integral part of presenting website content. While HTML is the framework, or walls of a house, think of CSS as the paint, landscaping, and glitter. Although knowledge of CSS is not required to use FlexCSS™, it is a good idea to understand its very basic structure.

Does FlexCSS™ use Scripting?

Not at all. FlexCSS™ is 100% CSS, except of course for the images which come with the bundles. We provide you with easy copy-and-paste HTML snippets to use with your sites.

Then, simply link to the FlexCSS™ libraries and you have instant, rapid, website building blocks—a tremendous amount sophisticated styling in seconds.

Styles Bundle

FlexCSS™ Styles Bundle is an add-on package which includes over 200 styles in numerous color configurations and designs. Although we'll cover the styles bundle more as we explore FlexCSS™ in the following sections, this article provides additional information about What's Included.

Why FlexCSS™?

Several versions of FlexCSS™ have existed for us internally. Throughout the development of various projects the libraries were refined and it was decided they would make a nice product for folks that need an additional rapid-design tool for their arsenal. These proven FlexCSS™ resources will save countless hours of writing your own CSS libraries and can serve as a solid foundation as you extend their use for your own projects.

What else is included?

What about browser compatibility?

FlexCSS™ has been tested rigorously on FireFox 2.X and 3.X as well as Internet Explorer 7. In addition, we have performed numerous tests with: Opera 9.5, Internet Explorer 8, and Google Chrome 2.0.
